How to add brother printer on mac USB connection?

To find the Print and Fax, Print & Scan, or Printers and Scanners and to add your Brother machine to the list of printers, follow these steps below:

Note: The screen may vary based upon the OS utilized and the Brother machine.

  1. Switch the power of your Brother machine off, and then disconnect the machine from the power supply. In the event that an interface cable has been attached to the machine, disconnect it as well.

  2. Select your connection type.

    To USB Users:
    1. Connect the Brother machine to the power outlet and then turn the machine on.
    2. Connect the Brother device to your PC using the USB cable.

    Don't connect the device to the USB connector on your keyboard, or a non-powered USB hub.

    To Wired Network User:

    1. The network cable should be connected both to the Brother machine and to the hub.
    2. Connect the Brother machine's power cord into the power outlet and turn on the machine's power.

    To Wireless Network Users:

    1. Connect the Brother machine to the power outlet, then turn the machine on.
    2. After that, you'll be required to connect your computer to connect to the network. For more details on how to set up your computer on the network, look up your Quick Setup Guide or Network User's Guide for the machine you are using. The most recent version of the Quick Setup Guide or Network User's Guide is found within the Manuals section.
  3. Select the Apple menu and select System Preferences.

  4. Simply click on the Print and FaxPrint & Scan, or Printers and scanners icon.

  5. Hit the "+" button.

  6. Click on the default. Select your Brother printer by clicking on the Printer Name list.
    Make sure that the correct printer is listed as Printing and Make sure that the correct machine is listed for Print Using or. Then click on the Add button.

  7. For the Driver CUPS:

  8. To PostScript Driver (not available for all models):
    Check that XXXXXXXXXXXXX BRScript or XXXXXXXXXXPS PS is listed under Printing using and Utilize. (Where XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Model name.)

  9. For AirPrint compatible models:
    If you select the AirPrint driver is chosen and you choose to install it, you won't get the full benefits of the driver for printing. Instead, we suggest that you select the driver CUPS Driver that we have described previously to get the full capabilities.

  10. The machine is connected to Printer & FaxPrint & Scan, or Printers & Scanners. Shut down this tab in the system preferences.
